What remains when every plan falls apart?
In early 2022 we set off overland towards India — through Europe, the Caucasus and Iran. On the way Salima gets pregnant. Our daughter is born in Goa. And then India will not let us leave.
Ten months of uncertainty, paperwork and shrinking savings. This film shows the moments when we did not know what to do next — and how we held together as a family.
What does it feel like when control slips away on the road? The film shows our uncertainty and our closeness, from the perspective of a family right in the middle of it.
Amazon lists the German version: buy for €9.99, rent for €3.99, not included in Prime. Prices and availability at the provider.
When encounters change everything.
In 2016 we sell everything and leave with our small daughter. A departure turns into three years in Asia — with one child, later with two. No return ticket, no idea what we would find.
What we found were people. This film is about encounters that change how you see the world, and a family looking for its own way on the road. No script. Eyes open.
What changes when you leave familiar everyday life behind? Our first departure, and the encounters that shaped how we see the world.
